La Jolla Real Estate Blog: Are you a La Jolla golfer? How you too can live in "La La Land"!

Are you a La Jolla golfer? How you too can live in "La La Land"!

I am fortunate enough to live and work in what my family and I call,  "La..La..Land".  La Jolla and La Quinta.  La Quinta is one of the 9 incorporated communities in the Coachella Valley - all within 30 miles.  Palm Springs is the most well-known, but La Quinta is fast becoming known as THE place to own a second or retirement home, especially if you play golf.

PGA West Alcatraz HoleLa Quinta is home to PGA West, In total, there are 109 holes of golf throughout PGA West. The six golf courses boast top-name designers like Dye, Weiskopf, Greg Newman, Palmer and Nicklaus. In addition to PGA West there are some incredible golf clubs including Arnold Palmer's Tradition, The Hideaway, The Madison Club, Andalusia, Rancho La Quinta, La Quinta Resort, Arnold Palmer's Mountain View Country Club, The Citrus, The Palms, Trilogy (Active Lifestyle Communtiy Over 55+) and the very exclusive Quarry Golf Club.

La Quinta is considered one of the fastest growing communities in California and certainly in Riverside County.  It takes me, depending on traffic, about 2 1/2 hours to drive to our home in La Quinta from La Jolla.  We chose La Quinta after owning second homes in Palm Desert because we consider the valleyLa Quinta Home View to be moving in this direction and because the views of the homes in La Quinta are spectacular.  The picture featured below is a picture of the view we enjoy when we are at home in La Quinta.

If you are a golfer, like my husband I are, you will especially enjoy the fact that when you have exhausted the clubs in La Quinta, you can try the over 100 other golf courses within our 30 mile Coachella Valley community.  How about playing where Bill Gates plays at the Vintage in Indian Wells? Or where the pros like to play at Big Horn in Palm Desert?  Maybe it is time to look at the incredibly popular Sun City Palm Desert or Sun City Shadow Hills if you are over 55 and ready for an active retirement lifestyle community.

The real estate market in La Quinta offers a variety of price ranges, sizes, styles, views and communities for everyone.  If you are considering a second home in the desert, or maybe even thinking of selling your La Jolla property and moving to the desert, you can view all the desert listings on our La Quinta real estate website anytime and without obligation.  If you would like more information about the golf clubs or would like to view available desert homes, either I or one of my experienced associates is here to help you.  Contact us at (760) 567-9100.

La La Land ...that's cute.  I remember back in the early 80's when La Quinta was not much of anything, but now....they are famous for not just Golf and Luxury Homes, but also for Art.  What a great place for a second home.  Oh, and La Jolla is nothing to sneeze at either :)
