Miramare Luxury Condominiums in La Jolla

La Jolla has a variety of houses and condominiums in our "Village".  Most of us consider the village to be any location that isMiramare in La Jolla within walking distance of the market, shops, restaurants, art museum, churches and of course the beach.  This is where Miramare is located.  Miramare are luxury condominiums that start at $6,000,000 and of course, these homes are only shown, according to their website, by "invitation only to pre-qualified buyers".  I say that with tongue in cheek because it is hard to imagine that you need an "invitation" to see a home that you might want to buy.  Does that mean that people wait by their mailboxes looking for that formal invitation?... Ok..ok... I know it is a marketing gimmick idea for luxury home selling.

Miramare condominiums are luxury personified with nearly 4,000 square feet of living space and you can choose your location on one of three levels.  With the purchase you are provided a generous allowance to help you "design" the home of your dreams meeting your needs and desires.   With six floor plans to choose from and a purchase price of $6,000,000 this ultimately will be a prestigious address in La Jolla once they are sold.

Miramare is located at 355 Coast Boulevard South across from the street from the ocean in the village of La Jolla.

La Jolla Beaches & Rip Currents

Summer is almost here and with that comes beach weather!  La Jolla is blessed with many beautiful beaches and coves offering places to swim, surf, snorkel, scuba dive and kayak.  While there are lifeguard towers on most of our beaches it is important to remember that the ocean changes and can be a dangerous place when there is a rip current.  Stay safe this summer and watch for the flags and read the signs from the lifeguards on where it is safe to swim!

Casa de Manana - A Retirement Community in La Jolla

Casa de Manana is a retirement community in one of the best locations in all of La Jolla.  Located on CoastCasa de Manana in La Jolla Boulevard across from the Children's Pool beach, these lovely Spanish style bungalows are what most of us dream of retiring to!

The history of Casa de Manana is just as charming as the place.  In 1923, Mrs. Isabel Morrison Hopkins envisioned a luxury hotel by the seashore and on July 4, 1924, Hotel Casa de Manana had its grand opening!  Casa de Manana quickly became "the" place to stay and socialize.  In 1953 Mrs. Hopkins sold the hotel and Casa de Manana opened as a luxury retirement community with 108 charter members in residence.

Today Casa de Manana is part of the Front Porch family of communities and is supported by the Pacific Homes Foundation.  The mottos of Casa de Manana are "the view changes daily" and "come live your life your way at Casa de Manana"... we couldn't agree more!  A dream retirement lifestyle!

Why Tampa Bay is such a nice place to live, work or just visit!

We are San Diegans and love our state, but when we think of another place to live we often consider Florida and Dawne has beautifully demonstrated (below) why we think Florida and specifically Tampa Bay would be a great alternative to Southern California.  Thanks Dawne!

Via Dawne Lagergren CRS, CLHMS, SRES (RE/MAX Metro):

Tampa Florida  St Petersburg Florida

Clearwater Florida  Skyway Bridge St Petersburg Florida

St Pete Beach Florida  Fort De Soto Park St Petersburg Florida

Beautiful Tampa Bay is located on the west coast of Florida and has over 35 miles of pristine spectacular white-sand beaches between St Pete Beach and Clearwater Beach.  Two of our area beaches have been voted the best beach in the United States by Dr Beach; Fort De Soto Park North Beach and Caladesi Island State Park Beach.  We have an average of 360 sunny days per year.  Tampa Bay is the second most populous metropolitan area in the State of Florida.  Primary cities are Tampa, St Petersburg and Clearwater.  The ten largest public companies based in Tampa Bay are in technology, electronics, managed health care, steel production, energy, e-commerce, investment-banking, insurance and staffing indicating a very diversified business community.

Here you will also find Tampa International Airport, MacDill Air Force Base, two Universities, a number of Colleges, museums, numerous highly rated hospitals and theaters, numerous waterfront parks, upscale shopping and restaurants of all varieties.

St Petersburg Florida  Albert Whitted Airport St Petersburg Florida

St Pete Beach Florida  Tampa Convention Center Florida

When it comes to sport we have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (American football), the Tampa Bay Rays (baseball) and the Tampa Bay Lightning (hockey).  If you enjoy playing golf or tennis there are endless opportunities all year around and if fishing or boating are your main interest, you've found a fabulous place.

Tampa Bay is only 1½ hours by car from Orlando with all its Theme Parks such as Disney World, MGM Studios, Sea World, Universal Studios and more.  In Tampa we have Busch Gardens, Adventure Island Water Park, Lowry Zoo and the Florida Aquarium.  A number of cruise lines depart from Tampa Port to the western Caribbean.

In St Petersburg you will find the famous Salvador Dali museum, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Florida Holocaust Museum and in Tampa you have the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center and the Henry B. Plant Museum just to mention a few.

St Petersburg Florida  St Petersburg Florida

Fort De Soto Park St Petersburg Florida  Fort De Soto North Beach St Petersburg Florida

You will find all styles of real estate in Tampa Bay from charming older homes to more modern houses, town houses and high rise condos.  There are many opportunities for either waterfront living, golf course communities, gated communities or close to the downtown city life.

The average price for a house in Tampa Bay was $133,900 in May of 2010.  Three years ago it was $214,900 according to the National Association of Realtors.  The sale of houses in the state of Florida increased by 24% the first quarter of 2010and condos by 67% compared to a year ago.  This is a strong indicator that the real estate market has reached bottom and has started to stabilize.

Gulfport Florida  Seminole Lake Florida

This is a great time to buy real estate in Tampa Bay or just come to visit and enjoy our beautiful community.

Welcome!

Realtor Mag Reports that Owners Optimistic About Home Values

We like hope and optimism about the real estate market and here is a glimmer of both - thanks Charita for this information!

Via Charita Cadenhead, www.bhamwiire.com (Bham WIiRE Realty, LLC (You've Got Options)):

Realtor Mag Reports that Owners Optimistic About Home Values.  While an astonsihing 89% of homeowners still feel that this is a bad market for selling a home, it demonstrates a glimmer of hope as compared to 100% doom and gloom outlook reported in May 2009.

There are signs that sellers are hopeful that property values will increase and that sellers are elevating from panic mode to level headed thinking not clouded by panic.

Home sellers (75%), undoubtedly more so than home buyers, believe that the current market is optimal for purchasing a home.

I can agree that this clearly is reflected in the Metropolitan Birmingham, Alabama market as stated in my post from yesterday:  The Nationwide ActiveRain Survey about Alabama (Metropolitan Birmingham).

One thing is clear, as an investment, real estate still ranks as one of the best as far as I'm concerned.  As with any investment there are always risk, but as we can clearly see, in just 2 years time, we again have reason to be optimistic after a dramatic decline in the real estate market.
